I don't know too much about the blogging world, nor do I know how to express myself very well (vocally or in writing), but I thought I'd give this a try. I'm gonna start off with an introduction about myself. I already have most of this typed since I use it for the online classes I'm taking through the University of Phoenix.

My name is Andy Medders. I was born and raised in sunny California. I decided to enlist in the US Army as an Information Systems Operator/Maintainer, better known as a “25Bravo” while I was still in high school and headed to basic training the summer after my graduation. I was not interested in going to college at that time and I felt that this was the best decision for me. My first and only duty station was Fort Knox, Kentucky. While there, I served the remainder of my 6 year commitment to the Army as the sole maintainer for approximately 250 users and computers in a 5 state area. In 2004 I was selected to be part of a team for the Army Dental Command that was tasked to deploy digital x-ray equipment and the computer systems to support them. I have traveled all over the world upgrading the Army’s dental clinics with state of the art equipment and assisting the Army in leading the way in this form of technology. I exited the active duty Army in 2006 and was offered a job in San Antonio, TX working for the Army Dental Command Head Quarters. My role there was tier 3 support for our digital x-ray and software project, and I continued to travel all over the world maintaining x-ray equipment and software previously installed by our team. I recently moved to Clarksville, TN to support the Fort Campbell Army Dental Activity. I have kept the same job title and many of the responsibilities, but now I am a little closer to my wife’s family which is in Kentucky.

My wife and I have been married since May 25, 2007. We met while I was stationed at Fort Knox, and moved to Texas after becoming engaged for almost 6 months. Aimee is my main focus right now, and I really want to show her how thankful to God I am that she is in my life. I want to become the leader of our home, and make her happy every chance I get.

-UPDATE 31 MAR 09-

I moved to Elizabethtown, KY last week to start a new job working at Fort Knox. I'm back to where it all began 8 years ago! Our move to TN 8 months ago was to get closer to family, but we felt as though we didn't get close enough. I was able to find a job as a Video Teleconference (VTC) Admin 25 minutes away from Aimee's family. I'm currently in my 2nd week of the new job and so far all is well. Our office is very busy, and most times don't even have time for restroom breaks (so it's a good thing I don't smoke cigarettes). Aimee is 5 months pregnant, and we are in the process of house hunting! Life is great!!!
