Gatlinburg, here we come

Tonight we are preparing for our road trip to Gatlinburg, TN.  It seems like we're packing our whole house just to make it feel like a home away from home for our baby boy.  Aimee has never been to the Smokies so we should have a good time playing "tourists" this weekend!  Below are some pics of Caleb helping us pack.  Come back later to check out all the photos from our weekend getaway!

Visit to Waverly Hills Sanatorium

My mom and aunt Irene visited us last week, and during their trip we went to Waverly Hills Sanatorium for a cool historical tour. For those of you who don't know it, Waverly was opened in the early 1900's as a Tuberculosis treatment facility. The Louisville area had a large outbreak of TB, and many people spent their final days at Waverly. This place is well known by the paranormal community as a truly haunted facility. Several TV organizations have done Halloween specials, and other tours here. You can find a bunch of videos on Youtube of footage recorded at Waverly. The slideshow below is of the tour we received, and didn't really have a lot of interaction with "the other side." We still had a great time together, and are now able to say that we've been there, done that. Waverly offers tours on Fridays and Saturdays, or you can pay for an overnight stay during the week. Our tour was from 8-10pm which gave us enough light to take some decent pics.
